Weekly Observations

  • This Week. Residential solar permits increased by 5% this week. Strength in the Southeast (Orlando, New Orleans), Rockies (Denver), and California was offset by lower permit filings in Texas and the East Coast
  • February. For February, permits are tracking up almost 15% compared to January and year ago levels.
  • Q1’21. Half way through Q1’21, the number of daily permits are tracking ~10% better than a year ago. Compared to Q4’20, permits are tracking down ~20% q/q, characteristic of seasonal permit trends, while Q1’21 installations are pointing to slightly higher compared to the previous quarter.
